CASE STUDY: MU ORIGIN_MU KHỞI NGUYÊN 3

Gamers have their own languages, so the completion of content and perfection of in-game language is a key factor for the success of a game later. That said, if it is made for gamers, it must be made by gamers. The Localize team must play and know the game to localize the game. Still, they need to keep the game “fresh” so that veterans can really enjoy it.

Project key information:

INPUT:

• Type of services: Full package localized

• Field: Online game (MMORPG)

• Language Combination: English <>
Vietnamese; Chinese <> Vietnamese

• Content: Game’s Lore, marketing content, in-game text, other source text, etc.

• Total Volume: ~800k unique source words

EXPECTATION:

• Completed Vietnamese localized game

• Project turnaround time: 50 days (including the Vietnamese Lunar New Year holiday)

• Reaching ~1.000.000 potential mobile gamers in Vietnam by 2023

KEY ISSUES

• A massive volume of ~800k unique words to be localized under a tight deadline

• Many Copycats had launched their Vietnamese version, even before Ourpalm and FingerFun.

• Players call for a really remastered and fresh version of MU after the very first illegal version in 2003.

• Ourpalm runs the game themselves in all market, and they do not have enough staffs to undertake market research before launching the game in Vietnam.
